OUR VISION.

Navigate aims to empower Grade 7-8 students by developing their leadership and introspection skills in order to build a stronger community inside and outside the classroom. We wish to develop their individuals in ways that harness more than their GPA, and we accomplish this with a 5 week session, of 90 minutes each.

The leaders of tomorrow are currently experiencing and will face many pressing issues; in school, at home, and within their communities.  At Navigate, we support students by not only allowing them to recognize these life obstacles, but we provide them tools to overcome them.

This is proactively approached by locating and bringing out each students; inner leader, building stronger relationships and communities, as well as developing and understanding each students’ vision.

CURRICULUM.

Over 5 weeks your students will have the opportunity to interact, develop relationships, and learn from university mentors that come into your classroom once a week, for a 90 minute period, over five weeks. That totals, 7.5 hours of leadership development training for each and every student enrolled in the program.

LEADERSHIP. SELF-DISCOVERY. COMMUNITIES. RELATIONSHIP BUILDING. VISION.

1

Leadership is understanding the goal of the program. We want to highlight the changes that we want to promote. Everyone has the potential to be. Let us build confidence in ourselves and others.

2

SELF-DISCOVERY

Everyone is filtering themselves through the activities that they are a part of. For example, being a student means that everyone has to learn a certain way. But there is so much more to every person, with different strengths, weaknesses, skills, and contributions. This week is about finding those things and owning who you are.

3

COMMUNITIES

We are all part of a greater collective. But do we understand our peers, the other members? Community is about understanding and tolerating differences, in opinion, in interests, and in personality, in culture. This week is about letting go of preconceived notions and accepting others’ differences, rather than changing others to fit our wants and needs (peer pressure). Person to team

RELATIONSHIP

BUILDING

Person to person understanding. How can we treat every follower as an equal? Every social interaction is defined by the way we approach our relationships with friends, family, and teachers. Making sure that those situations are beneficial to our growth is imperative. And in order to create a community that flourishes, we need to check on our relationships and bonds with others. How can we build others up while we grow ourselves? We find ways to be kind, to listen, to accept, and helping others by using communication to create healthy ways to deal with conflict.

VISION

This is the crux of the program. You are our future, and you have all of these tools to help you create something better. This means that you can create a better relationship, a better community, a better world, or a better you. This is where you can apply all of the concepts learned to realize your potential. Creating a better you is the most important vision, because this will lead you forward.
